It was a given, and now it's official. The Jets released backup quarterback Patrick Ramsey on Friday after just one year with the team.

Jets GM Mike Tannenbaum believes that second-year quarterback Kellen Clemens is ready to assume the primary backup job.

The Jets will likely pursue a veteran #3 signal-caller like former Tampa Bay Buccaneer Tim Rattay.
