Edwards wants to get Vinny back in

For some reason, Jets coach Herman Edwards, and some reporters, want to give Vinny Testaverde another chance to play this year.

"Hopefully he's going to get in a game before the season is over with," said Edwards. "That's what we're going to try to do."

When is this going to happen?

"Just when the time is right," said Edwards.

And when would the time be right?

"It's like a surprise party for somebody," said Edwards. "You don't tell them. You just kind of wait. ‘Surprise! Mark, we're having a party, just for you!' You don't tell the person. Thank you. You've got two games left, somewhere along the line, I would think, because we don't have an alumni game. Unless we have the media game against us, you guys are going to play against us."

Edwards might want to be careful with this plan. The Jets offensive line is struggling with protection, and Testaverde isn't particularly mobile.
